William J. Bayard

William began his legal career in 2003 as a general practitioner, handling various litigation matters, including personal injury, automobile liability, property damage, workers’ compensation, wage claims and domestic disputes. He also served as Magistrate Pro Tempore in the City Court of Duson, Louisiana, from 2004 to 2005.

In 2006, William began working as an independent petroleum landman and gained experience in both Louisiana and Texas in the areas of mineral lease and right-of-way negotiation, due diligence reporting, curative solutions and title research. Thereafter, he renewed his legal practice and focused on oil and gas title opinions.

William is a life-long resident of Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from the University of Louisiana in 1999 and received his J.D. from Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge in 2003. He is also a licensed Louisiana Title Insurance Agent.
